Flowers seem to be synonymous with spring. This would be the perfect bloom for those with pollen allergies ..:) This hairband uses grossgrain (yes from Japan), and blooms that were stitched from grossgrain (not from Japan), lace and crystallised swarovski elements. ~to own it~

Hairband Tutorial
As promised here is a tutorial of how I made my hairbands :)
Materials for hairband:
Ribbon 3.5cm thick
Elastic 1 cm thick
Thread
Needle
Scissors
Steps:
1. Measure and cut the ribbon according to the length of your head. I measured from behind one ear to the next over the top of the head. Then the remaining length cut a piece of elastic band.
2. After cutting the ribbon pull out about 10-15cm of thread from the ribbon. I did this so that i have some thread that matches the ribbon which would be used later)
3. Cut the end with a zig-zag scissors or just cut it so that you have a jagged edge. This will stop the ribbon from fraying.
4. Line up the edge of the elastic and the ribbon and ensure that the elastic is place somewhat in the middle of the ribbon
5. Sew the two pieces together in a zig zag manner about 1cm from the edge just to make sure it will stay ( You could also use a sewing machine to do this)
6. After sewing it flip the ribbon back
7. Then fold over the ribbon to cover the end of the elastic. This is where i used the thread I pulled from the ribbon. All you need is a few stitches so that the end looks covered.
8. Fold the ribbon over as in the picture to line up the other end and sew as before in steps 5,6 and 7.
9. When you are done just flip the band back so that the folded end is on the inside of the band.
10 . Almost done. Actually if you just want a plain ribbon band you are done else you can embellish it a bit. I did that with Crystallised swarovski elements.
Happy Creating :D

Holiday in Japan
I have always loved hairbands, fascinators, hats and all manners of hair/head accessories. After watching the Royal Wedding I have been motivated to finally make my hairbands. Quite a while ago while in Japan I came across some really nice grossgrain ribbon and of course my favourite bling - Crystallised Swarovski Elements. The combinations are subtle yet elegant. ~ to own it ~
I will be posting a tutorial on how i made the bands in the next post :)

1 JUNE 2011
I have not been showing this sit e a lot of love as of late . I have been busy beading and selling faster than I have been able to update. I have also been spending a bit more time on my other baby Dolce cakes and desserts. So 1 JUNE 2011 will mark another milestone. I have decided to revamp my site, hopefully with better pictures, more interesting accessories and perhaps a little more. For the moment the changes will be ongoing.
